Introducing Hyrox

HYROX is a global fitness race that bridges the gap between traditional endurance events and functional strength training. It’s designed to test your full-body fitness across eight workout stations, each separated by a 1km run — meaning you’ll complete 8km of running and 8 functional workouts in total.

Workouts include movements like sled pushes, rowing, burpees, lunges, wall balls, and more — all designed to challenge your strength, endurance, and mental grit. Whether you’re an experienced athlete or just getting started on your fitness journey, HYROX offers a unique and addictive way to measure your performance and see your progress over time.

Who Can Do HYROX?

The best part about HYROX is that anyone can do it. There’s no need to complete a beginner’s cycle like with our CrossFit classes — our HYROX sessions are open to all fitness levels.

Our coaches will guide you through the movements, help you scale the intensity to your ability, and ensure you’re training safely and effectively. Every session is built to improve your strength, stamina, and confidence — whether your goal is to complete your first HYROX race or just enjoy an incredible full-body workout.

We offer a range of HYROX memberships for those who want to train regularly, as well as single drop-in sessions if you’d like to give it a try before committing. Whether you’re all-in or just curious, there’s a place for you in our HYROX community

  • HYROX is a global fitness event combining functional exercises and endurance. Each race consists of 8 workouts and 8 runs (1km each), testing your strength, power, and stamina in a structured, measurable format.

  • All HYROX classes can be booked directly through the EP Gym app. You can choose between memberships for regular training or single Hyrox drop-in sessions if you just want to give it a go.

  • Not at all. HYROX is for every fitness level — from complete beginners to experienced athletes. Our coaches will help you scale each movement and intensity to suit your ability.

  • Each HYROX session includes a warm-up, skill or strength focus, and or a longer workout that mirrors elements of an official HYROX race. Every class is carefully programmed by our coaching team to help you improve week by week.

  • No — unlike our CrossFit programme, HYROX has no beginners’ cycle. You can jump straight into classes at any time.

  • Comfortable gym clothing, a good pair of training or running shoes, a water bottle, and plenty of energy. Everything else — equipment, guidance, and motivation — is provided by us.

  • Absolutely! Most members start training before ever entering an event. Many go on to take part in HYROX races across the UK once they feel ready — and our team can help you prepare for your first competition.

  • HYROX sessions typically last 60 minutes, including the warm-up, coaching, and workout.

  • Yes! You don’t need to be a full EP Gym member to attend. Non-members can purchase drop-in sessions through our app or in person.
